Create a Vision of Who You Want to Be

By Dianne M. Daniels | attitude

If you are unhappy where you are in life, despite recent positive changes, it could be that you are not creating or manifesting the best possible vision for yourself. Think back to recent thoughts you’ve had – were they negative thoughts or feelings, like “I’ve hit a roadblock?” or “I’ve made progress, but it’s just not enough…” or worse?

Shift your focus toward creating and manifesting the DivaStyle life that you want to live, or to becoming the Dynamic, Intriguing, Vivacious and Authentic person you want to be.

If you want to have a life similar to an idol of yours, read about that person – how did they become who they are now? Have they written a book, or perhaps articles on their transformation? Have they done interviews on how they became a success? When you’ve got that kind of information, you can use it as a guideline to help you accomplish something similar. Customize the inspiration to fit YOUR life and circumstances, all while concentrating on the positive aspects of the journey and noticing what strengths and challenges occurred so you can plan ahead for them where possible.

When you create a positive image within your mind, it will set up neural pathways to help you reach your goals. The more you reinforce this mental image the more pathways will be created. If there is reputable information available online that can help you with “fleshing out” your vision, use it to your advantage.

When you have determined your vision and the steps you believe will help you get there, continue to imagine and visualize it. Do this on a daily basis, adding audio reinforcement in the form of affirmations or reflections to change your mindset and improve your focus. Your brain will get so used to this vision it will become a subconscious process and come to you more easily as the days pass.

This is not to say you can’t alter your plan or your vision. There may be something you thought you wanted, but as you progress, you find this not to be the case. There is nothing wrong with that – in fact, as you grow and change throughout the process and your journey, you should expect this to happen.

If this happens, create another vision – build on the original – and move on from there. Your brain will form pathways for this new vision.

If your vision is fine but the plan is not getting you where you need to be, don’t be afraid to make changes to it – plans are meant to be guidelines only, that can be changed as needed. This can happen when new information comes to light along the way, information that wasn’t available when you first got started on your journey.

Be prepared for criticism from family, friends, and your associates while creating this new vision for yourself. It is yours and yours alone, because while they may be close to you, they may not understand what you’re trying to achieve. Hold strong to your beliefs and prove them wrong – because after all, your critics are not the ones who have to live with the vision you’ve made for yourself.

You’ll find when you reach your goals those same critics will suddenly be on your side. They will even claim to have been there for you all along. It’s annoying, but that is how people behave. It’s not worth the aggravation to try and address it – just move on with your vision, live your DivaStyle life, and let them think whatever they want.
