I inspire others to Respect me by Respecting myself

“If You Don’t Respect Yourself, ain’t nobody gonna give a good cahoot…” – The Staple Singers

I am worthy of respect regardless of my family background or economic status. I earn the respect of others by the way I treat them and carry myself. Being respectful toward others and myself earns me respect.

I demonstrate self-respect by taking care of my appearance. Performing basic hygiene on a daily basis keeps me looking presentable and approachable.

My thoughts remain positive in every situation. I stay away from negativity by smiling and finding the good in all things. My positive attitude is not only attractive, but it sends the message that I am a person worthy of admiration.

I treat others with kindness. I refrain from bullying or speaking in a condescending tone. People are willing to respect me because I make them feel as equals to me.

I know who I am – I am a person of my word

My attitude exudes confidence. I know who I am and I am happy to be the way I am. My identity is solid. People know they can trust me because I am unique, never trying to be like anyone else.

When I communicate, I use a strong voice. Instead of speaking with a soft and shaky voice, I speak up clearly to command the attention of my peers.

People respect me because I am a person of my word. When I say I am going to complete a task, I do it quickly and thoroughly. I take my word seriously and, as a result, so do others.

Today, I choose to treat myself with utmost respect so others can follow my example and respect me as well. I embrace kindness, positivity, and confidence as a way of life.

Self-Reflection Questions:

1. What does my appearance say about me?
2. How can I make my conversations more positive?
3. Am I a person of my word?
